Save button at Payment Line Level

When you record any payment for an Invoice or Bill, please make sure you enter the Save button at the payment line.

Once you click Save at payment line, then only you can save the payment transaction 

If you do not click on the Save button at the payment line level, the error message below will pop as per below:
